RIP Amy Winehouse

Sunday, July 24, 2011

Today, Amy Winehouse tragically passed away. At first, I saw the timeline in twitter and I thought to myself, it was another prank considering she doesn't score a lot of points in the like department.

So I didn't believe it, I was like, oh crap. Another joke about someone's death. But then again, when something like "RIP Amy Winehouse" flooding your timeline from the likes of NME, AltPress and others. I googled the news and yes, she's dead.

We lost another talent. Despite her bad reputation and massive amount of mess she made, I appreciate her talent. She's one of my fav female singers.

She has this strong jazzy voice with an authentic British voice. I love listening to her songs, I kid you not, I sing to her songs as well. Her lyrics gave me chills. Her voice soothes me somehow.

Damn it, so young. So young indeed. But death is certain, everyone will eventually dies, the only differences are how and when.

And yeah drugs are not hip. It reminds me of Kurt Cobain's death at the age of 27. I was still young at that time, but I knew him. I grew up with Nirvana's songs.

RIP Amy Winehouse. You are loved.

Here are some of my fav songs from Winehouse. Enjoy

Arctic Monkeys did a cover for this song, as much as I love Alex Turner, I still think Amy's version is the best. Unrivaled vocal. The lyrics hold perfect meaning. I've never delete this song in my playlist ever since I heard this one.

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,

Thinking on you in the final throes,
This is when my buzzer goes,

I love the part when she sings "His message was brutal but the delivery was kind". I'd repeat this part every time I hear this song.

"You should be stronger than me"..
