Here’s my review of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. I know it won't likely to make an impact but just wanted to share my thoughts. Honestly I think at the beginning it was very slow and kind of boring but it went quite well in the middle and end up to be not so good. I don’t read the books because I don’t have such determination to read the books. I’m interested to read it but I don’t think I could even finish it because I’m not an avid reader. I have few friends who have read the books and I’m still waiting for them to hear their thoughts about the movie. Why the movie is not really that good? For me it is because I wish to see more actions than just boy/girl love stories. However I do find it to be hilarious. Yeah you know the way Lavender lavishing her affections (perky and desperate), the part where Ron feels like floating because he’s affected by the love potion and etc. Not to mention the part when Professor Horace called Harry in a funny tone and Harry did the same thing. My friends and I even joke about one scene where the place looks like the one in “Beowulf” movie. We had silly thought like the one Angelina is going to appear. Haha. Overall the movie is packed with laughter, happiness and sadness but it seems to be not really that good. I don’t know if it’s just me but I think they should’ve elaborated the Dumbledore’s death part. I mean like showing what happens to him next. Did he die just like that? It seems to me like they just killed a minor character because nothing happened whereas he’s one of the greatest wizards of all time. Next I wonder why Harry didn't fight back. Yeah he should have at least done something. And I do find Ginny and Harry’s first kiss was a bit odd. I don’t read the books so forgive me for being confused. I know there are the explanations and details of every scene in the books but I just wanted to see it in the movie. I know it’s hard to include every crucial moments from the books into the movie itself. That’s why they need to edit the unnecessary scenes or whatsoever. Moreover the movie is only two and a half hour so it’s impossible to explain everything. I think the movie would be much better if they actually explained more about the Half-Blood Prince. Still the movie is not bad but it’ll leaves you lots of questions later. The acting was great and all of them have growing up to be good. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) was good and the boy who played Tom Riddle was really good. My friend says it was a waste to watch the movie but I don’t think so. It’s just I’m feeling slightly disappointed and note that I’m not one of the readers. For the readers, it could be worse as they might have higher expectation. Go and watch it as the movie was not a complete disappointment. The acting, music, special effects and costumes are all great.
