Sometimes a lot can be less just like a little can be enough.

Called and Uncalled For

Last night I had a minor accident. Alhamdulillah all of us are doing fine. But my car had a little injury. So little that it cried my heart out. ;'(

I admit, I might have pressed the gas pedal too soon and then bump.

One thing for sure: Your subconscious mind is very powerful.

My conscious mind is responsible for the logic knowing I couldn't pass it but then my subconscious mind injected the ego 'Nah, surely you can pass it' that turned out to be false.

Subconscious mind to the conscious mind : "The installed program of ego is going to be launched and the result will be a behavior that you may regret later."

Kaboom. Regret....and still regret...!!!

To counter for the mistake, my subconscious mind launched the reflex actions. hmm

Still, things happened for a reason.

'Redha' is one word befitting my situation right now.

Lesson learnt. It's time to smile again. ;)

(No one is considered to have believed until he believes in qadar and that good and evil are from Allah and until he believes that whatever has befallen him would have never missed him and whatever was decreed not to befall him will never befall him.) [Tirmidhi]

As Loud As Feeling

Thursday, December 1, 2011

I'm writing this as a response to this. Guess this is written for all of you, you know who you are.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart”
Helen Keller

It'd be a blatant lie if I say I felt nothing reading the entire post because man, I do. And I do it wholeheartedly hence writing this entry.

It's no surprise that we have known each other for almost 4 years and counting. We just sort of clicked and like a force between two magnetic poles, it can never be broken. At least not without a presence of another force.

What force? It could be anything but I'll leave it as it is. I'm afraid my thoughts will turn into reality.

Anyhow, in less than 2 months or 3 months top, each of us will depart and follow a different path. Some of us are getting married, some of us might be planning to continue studying and whatnot.

Truly time isn't so friendly to us. At least not in our final semester because I swear everyday I was left being unsatisfied with the time we spent.

Never enough.

There's always new gossip to share.

New issue to prank.

New thought to ponder.

New opinion.

New joke.

With you guys, there is always something new.

I love how a mundane day can turn into a joyous day in a split second.

How ridiculously plain issue can turn into a redonkulous joke of the world.

How a short laughter can turn into a chain of laughter among us.

pic courtesy of steve

How the 'no offense' jokes become 'offense intended' jokes for a mere laughter.

Trust me dearest friends, if I were to summarize the whole experiences it still wouldn't be enough.

For that, I thank you all my beloved. Merci beaucoup.

Thanks for letting me see life through a whole different perspective. I wouldn't have changed for the better if it's not for your kind endeavor.

For the times we bicker and such, that's just a mistake every once in a while. And here's sorry for the mistakes done. Cheers. :)

Let's enjoy the time that we have and relish it while it lasts.

The span of our friendship is never up to any limit.

Though we go our separate ways
I won't forget so don't forget
The memories we made

Please remember, Please remember

Of thinking beyond

Friday, November 25, 2011

A new chapter of life is beginning soonish.

I'm not sure about others but I have a fest inside my head. A planning fest, that is. I tend to plan lots of things inside my tiny head.

Words i wanna say.

Things i wanna do.

Places i wanna go.

Inappropriate honest opinions I wanna shoot.

Dreams I have.

It's all in my head. It's a galore. Sadly, most of the times it didn't happen the way i wanted it to be or perhaps the way it should have been. But for the things I did, things I have gone through, I keep reminding myself there's no regret.

"Nothing can happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Master. It is in Allah that the muminun should put their trust" (Al-Tawba: 51)

It shouldn't be any regret. The problem lies for the things I never do, things I wanna do.

What's the saying about following your guts etc? Well sometimes I feel like I have no guts to do some things. That explains why some things left in the list, never been ticked off.

"If I could give you just one gift, do you know what it would be? Confidence." (One Day, 2011)

Yeah, I need confidence. Still confidence alone isn't gonna cut it. I need something more.

I actually tittered at the thought of me wanting something more. I haven't rip the shadow of my so-called confidence, yet I want something more. Hish.

Many a time I think and just think, never really do what I wanna do, never really say what I wanna say and the list goes on. And for the things I should do or must do, I tend to stall it. It's fatal. I do believe the more you stall, the lazier you are. At the end of the day, you'll go crazy.

Funny how a brain works, often driven by aims or targets. But who am I kidding? We are His servants with a sole purpose which is to serve Him and none other. In spite of all that, for the worldly affairs if we have a longer time span of accomplishing a goal, we would nonetheless stall if we could. The likelihood of giving other trivial business is higher.

This is where I am wrong. In need of a change.

It's a new year soon. According to Muslim calendar, it's 1433. Alhamdulillah for Allah still giving me a chance to breathe in for another second, minute, week, year (God knows when).

Life goes by in a blink of an eye. I read this one book and it is true that time is going faster these days.

The Prophet(SAW) told us that one of the signs of the Last Day would be that

“Time would move faster - so that a whole year would pass like a month, a month would pass like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour like the amount of time it takes to kindle a fire.” (Ahmad)

This is actually a reminder for us, forgetful servants to do rightful things for gaining access to the beautiful jannah.

Note to self: Do and keep doing. Not think and do nothing.

Salam Maal Hijrah. Xo

That's My Man, yo!

A Token Gesture

Saturday, November 5, 2011

I've noticed I keep coming back writing in here when I clearly stated that I won't be coming back. So much for hiatus. :\

Whatever. All I know is that I have this one week for a short break. I can do whatever I want. Me writing in here, it's like a medium to drain some parts in my brain. Having people to read it on the other hand is a different story.

One week isn't that 'fantasy' long if you have to minus it with reality. Yeah, as usual assignments tag along.

Anyway, earlier today when I was driving back home my door wasn't properly closed as in not tight closed. Usually I'd have known for certain seeing the light in my car indicating it's not properly closed. But no, this time no light whatsoever.

Once upon a moment, there was this one guy honked me few times to warn me. At first, I thought WTH man, did I cut your line? Did I do something to offend you?

But when I saw him, he was warning me complete with hand gestures and everything. I'm thankful for that small act of kindness.

What fazed me was that no one other than him said anything about the door. I mean, I was driving for more than 10 mins before he came and honked at me. What happened to few others?

Positive thinking! Maybe they didn't see it at all. It was my fault to even begin with. I should have checked my door. Le sigh.

Anyhow I'm just being thankful and all that. May Allah bless you wherever you are.

I'd never forget a small act of kindness.

"Do not forget small kindnesses and do not remember small faults. " -Chinese Proverb

Cleansing Soul

Friday, November 4, 2011

Subhanallah. Inspiring, isn't it? I couldn't agree more.

It's weird that I felt a sudden gush of weird emotions watching the videos. So weird that having two in one sentence isn't enough. :\

It's a mix feelings of sadness, guilty, the feeling of not enough and anything equals to those. Oh wait, it's heightened.

It's not a shame that I actually broke out into tears watching both of the videos. Yes, I'm sentimental like that. I know it says in the title "Don't shed a tear watching this video".

Oh my, I didn't invite the tears. It came streaming down my cheeks just like that. Just because.

Truthfully, how often do you hear such powerful words that can easily touch your heart? Perhaps the threshold of my sadness began to recede on its own.

If your soul is still unflinching, I pray that one day you'll get there.

I don't know about you. I believe it depends on which angle you view it, no?

Frankly the message in the video uplifted me.

I wrote this once and I'm going to repeat it again as a reminder. We're so determined to satisfy ourselves hankering for the worldly affairs that we forget the existence of the other world.

Even if you're not ready, it doesn't hurt to just try and keep learning. Let's because I'm willing to learn. Xo

“He wanted to cry quietly but not for himself: for the words, so beautiful and sad, like music.”
James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

“Anyone who has learned the Quran and holds it lovingly in his heart will 'value his nights when people are asleep, his days when people are given to excess, his grief when people are joyful, his weeping when people
laugh, his silence when people chatter and his humility when people are arrogant'. In other words every moment of life will be precious to him, and he should therefore be 'gentle', never harsh nor quarrelsome, 'nor one who makes a clamour in the market nor one who is quick to anger'.”
Ibn Mas'ud

“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before--more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle.”
Charles Dickens

"When anyone greets you in a courteous manner, let your greetings be better that his- or at least return the same, Allah keeps account of everything." (An-Nisa 86)

"Follow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and constant, till Allah do decide: for He is the best to decide."
(Quran 10:109)

On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray: ) “Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith.”(Quran 2:286)

“And whether you disclose what is in your own selves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it” (Qur’an 2: 284)

That is, He will call to account and He (SWT) will ask, but a person will not be punished concerning those things over which he had no power, such as the whispering of oneself and one’s speech to oneself, for this Allah (SWT) will not hold mankind accountable. And to abhor the evil whispering is a part of Faith. (Taken from Latis)

"So by mercy from Allah , [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah . Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]." (Quran 3:159)

"If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely."(Quran 3:160)

"And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful" (Quran 10:107)

"And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination" (Quran 35:18)

One must not complain because Allah(S.W.T) predestines their hardship. No amount of hardship is beyond one's capability to endure. I know that. Truly I am.

But often in times, I failed myself. I failed when it comes to patience, perseverance and whatnot.

It's hard to be righteous when there's a pinch of bitterness tainted your soul. And when there's an option to complain, you complain nonetheless. You complain to yourself, to other self and even to Him.

What if there's no option to complain, what would you rather do?

Meekly speaking, who am I to question the integrity of what lies in my own destination? I am indeed a slave to Him. O Allah, grant me a great amount of patience with endless capacity to endure whatever befalls on me. Amin.

"Bukan senang nak jadi baik, bukan susah nak jadi jahat. Tapi yang bukan senang itu selalunya lebih mulia dari segalanya"

En la repetición

Monday, October 31, 2011

On repeat is the title.

I know I said I won't be coming back but damn, the temptation of writing when you had something in your mind is just.. umm let's settle with irresistible.

I hate being awakened in the middle of the night but yeah, I am only human after all. What say do I have in the normal cycle of my body? Oh wait, hate is a strong word. I just don't fancy it, not at all.

I wonder is it the weight of the exam? or the dying sound of my alarm clock? or even the raucous sound of everything? I'm not sure which one fits in the answer mold. I didn't ask my body. X

Anyway I have an exam tomorrow and truth is I haven't finish study. But come to think of it, when did I ever finish study something? Aww, too bad! too bad!

Worst part is I wasn't so keen on having exam but then I read one thing posted by my friend on twitter. A lil' something like this

"This is our last semester. Why do we have such feeling of laziness rather than being extra happy to go sit for the exam? It's our last semester. We won't have all of these later, better cherish it now."

It's obviously not like that but I can't seem to recall the exact words but the meaning is there.

Reading this, it's like a good knock straight up to my head!!

This kind message is supposed to last for the whole semester but yeah, you know. Human!

It lasted for only few hours and dang the laziness resides back! Big time slacker.

I put it in here so that whenever I feel like straying away from my goal, here's the big knock again!

Anyway as usual, here's an excerpt from the book 'To Kill A Mockingbird" :

“We know all men are not created equal in the sense some people would have us believe- some people are smarter than others, some people have more opportunity because they're born with it, some men make more money than others, some ladies make better cakes than others- some people are born gifted beyond the normal scope of men.
But there is one way in this country in which all men are created equal- there is one human institution that makes a pauper the equal of a Rockefeller, the stupid man the equal of an Einstein, and the ignorant man the equal of any college president. That institution, gentlemen, is a court.”
Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

“Naw, Jem. I think that there is just one kind of folks. Folks."

Jen turned and punched his pillow. When he settle back his face was cloudy. He was going in to one of his declines, and I grew wary. His brows came together; his mouth became a thin line. He was silent for a while.

That is what I thought, too," he said at last, "when I was your age. If there is just one kind of folks, why can't they get along with each other? If they're all alike, why do they go out of their way to despise each other? Scout, I think I am beginning to understand something. I think I'm beginning to understand why Boo Radley stayed shut up in the house all this's because he wants to stay inside”
Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

Send Me Away

Saturday, October 29, 2011

It shows the clock isn't dead as I'm writing this, it's freaking 4 am. Yeah, I'm wide awake. Thanks to a part of a day dozed off.
I haven't been writing anything lately. Not that I've ran out of muse but it's just I'm frigging busy to the extent that I prefer to ditch anything that goes in the distraction department. But hey here I am writing again just because I feel like writing something in the sound of nothingness at 4 am. Kudos to the sound or perhaps to the part deaf ears.

Well I have foreseen my days ahead and I think it's gonna be hectic. Like mad hectic! Whatever. It's not like I couldn't survive it.

Anyway a word came to my mind before I went to bed just now, hence giving me some sort of interest to write back in here.
Define sincerity?
I don't even know where to begin.
But I do believe people should bring a pocket of sincerity everywhere they go.
Because people would rather be polite than sincere.
It's in the back of our mind. I know. I do too.
But let's try to be sincere, shall we?

It's quite hard because we were raised to see life like that or to live life like that. I mean to be polite rather than sincere even in the toughest time.
We prefer to endure rather than saying No to a thing we know we couldn't handle. It's good to be polite but what's polite when it robs the essence of sincerity?

It's just something to ponder. Work the brain, think and think again.

P/s: Let's just say I'm on hiatus. I won't be back till everything is finish. Till then, Xo.

Promise Yourself

Sunday, October 16, 2011

" To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel

that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,

and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past

and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself

that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,

not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you. "

First of The Gang To Die

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

ZOMG. Zee Avi did an awesome job covering Morrissey's First of The Gang To Die. Soulful rendition.
I still love Morrissey's version, but damn Zee Avi's version is the second best. ;)

You have never been in love
until you've seen the stars
reflect in the reservoirs

And you have never been in love
until you've seen the dawn rise
behind the Home for the Blind

We are the Pretty Petty Thieves
and you're standing on our streets
where Hector was the
first of the gang with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die, oh my

Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die, oh my

You have never been in love
until you've seen the sunlight thrown
over smashed human bone

We are the Pretty Petty Thieves
and you're standing on our streets
where Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and the first to do time
the first of the gang to die
Such a silly boy

Hector was the first of the gang
with a gun in his hand
and a bullet in his gullet
and the first lost lad
to go under the sod

And he stole from the rich and the poor
and the not very rich and the very poor
and he stole all hearts away
He stole all hearts away
He stole all hearts away
He stole all hearts away

Someone You Used To Know

Friday, September 9, 2011

  • First of all, Happy Eid to all Muslims all around the world. I know, it's quite late but NVM. Anyhow for those who know me, I'm asking for your forgiveness towards everything that I've done; Let's forgive and move on to a fresh start. ;)
  • I've had a wonderful and joyous eid this year, albeit it's nothing close to being perfect since I no longer have a kampung. I miss every single thing about my village and most prominently, I miss my late grandma. Al-fatihah to my late grandma. May Allah shower His mercy upon her soul and place her amongst the solihin. Amin.
  • I'm so blessed on this eid that I've got lots of duit raya. It never cease to amaze me how generous people can be. Well, my parents taught us if you have some extra for yourself, always give some to others; family, friends & even strangers. Don't be a penny-pinching person. This is the last year I'm getting duit raya, I'm thinking of buying something meaningful with it. I'm that sentimental. Haha xD
  • I watched my team being humiliated and outclassed by the devils. Oh what more can I say, even at some point I was actually laughing, not knowing how to react. Damn. It was so sad and laughable at time. I've ranted my say in my twitter. Haha. But now with all the new signings, I hope we'll bounce back. But frankly speaking, I think we need to start all over. But hey here's to a positive thinking!! And yes, Arteta is in!! I've always like him, he's always be my choice in my FPL. Nice
  • Bashing is so uncool, show some respect regardless of which team you support. You've got to try harder to make me go astray from supporting my team. I've been with them through thick and thin. It's been freaking 12 years mann!! Beat that haters. I do believe that respect can only be earned with respect. If you want others to respect you, first you've gotta learn to show some respect.
  • I super love killing my time by reading something meaningful and creative. In there lies a great amount of inspiration. Hats off to the author with great mind! Cool stuffs!
  • One piece of advise "Never ever forget your parents, family". It's disheartening hearing true stories about those who left their parents/family etc. Just so you remember, they were once struggling to give you the life you have today. If they're not, they're still your parents! Come on, be nice! They have every rights in the world to be well treated. Period.
  • I'm still putting my mission on hold. It's true that I'm about to embark on a new journey but there's still a tad feeling of uncertainty. What's up with that? I'd love to ask people about that, but nahh I don't have the guts. ;(
  • Joking has been a second nature in my family. If you can't accept a joke, don't call me family. As simple as that. Okay that doesn't come out right! What I'm trying to say is that don't be so serious. In times you've gotta let loose. Cheers
Here's something nice by Warren Buffet :

Hard work : All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Laziness : A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.
Earnings : Never depend on a single source of income.
Spending : If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon sell things you need.
Savings : Don't save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving.
Accounting : It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.
Auditing : Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.
Risk-taking : Never test the depth of the river with both feet.

Real Deal

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

I love Adele. Well I love her even more when I know she's actually my age. Frankly, I've always thought she's far older than me.

Hearing the live version is always 1000x better than the album. She sings her heart out in live session especially in the small occasion.

Try listen to the whole set of her live session in Itunes Festival 2011. God, it triggers a sudden gush of emotions. Weird but damn, it's connected in every way even if you've never felt that way before. Okay, I'm talking gibberish now. Whatever. Enjoy the real deal, beat that Taylor Swift!! Hahahaha. Her lyrics sound far realistic than yours. Sorry!!

Arrivederci Captain

Monday, August 15, 2011

Adios mi capitan.

Arsenal (2003-2011), Barcelona (2011- ??)

The drawn-out saga has ended for real this time. Le sigh.

I'm bidding farewell to the captain, Cesc Fabregas.

It's disheartening to know another one left us. Big time sadness!

And yeah, he left us when we needed him the most.

"Perhaps Arsene you should have been a bit more forceful about that months ago. Losing your two best players the day before the season starts is nothing short of an embarrassing disaster." ~Legrove

But then again, the truth didn't startle me at all. In times, I kept reminding myself the truth is nigh. At some point, he's going back to Barca. That's pretty much about it.

Enjoy your time on the bench if not in the 1st XI. (That's my evil alter-ego, she said that!)

Though the truth is hard to swallow, I'm wishing him all the best in his career and welcome back to the nou camp.

You are loved, you will certainly be missed.

You'll remain as our youngest goalscorer. That's for sure. I'm referring to the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2003.

Thanks for the amazing 8 years journey. And just so you know, you were once our captain. I'll treasure that in my memories. Once a gunner, always a gunner.

So the Fabregas transfer saga is over as he signs for Barca. Good luck to him, top player. I'm interested to see where Barca will fit him in ~ Rio Ferdinand (via twitter)

P/s: This news reminds me of the moment when Henry left Arsenal. ;(

Henry, Hleb, Pires, Viera and many more. Cesc has joined the list! Congrats. ;(

And yeah, a warmth note for Arsene: Spend some fucking money!!

Oh excuse my French!

Time To Kill

Sunday, August 14, 2011

So many things to do, yet so little time.

I believe this phrase has been frequently abused.

We do have 24 hours a day, is it not enough?

No one has less or more, everyone is given the same amount of time per day.

24 hours a day is not that long to be fully occupied, neither too short to be idle.

"Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time, who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done, if we are always doing."
Thomas Jefferson

Here's a toast to hectic days ahead...!!!! Kanpai..!!

The Sovereignty

"Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen

will have forgiveness and great reward."

"And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed,

He is Knowing of that within the breasts."

P/s: A very lovely verse. Subhanallah. Recite surah Al-Mulk everyday, insyaAllah you'll get a lot of benefit. ;)

Lollapalooza 2011

Around The Park by Steve Wrubel, originally uploaded by LollapaloozaFest.

I forgot how awesome a band could be till I watch the replay of Lollapalooza again. I've watched it a few times and yes, I even watched the
live webcast of the fest on Youtube. Thanks to those who reminded me about the webcast!

This is indeed another great music festival along side with Coachella, Glastonbury, SXSW and etc. I wonder where's The Strokes this year? I remember they played last year. NVM

I didn't watch the whole set though, I picked the one I fancy.

Foo Fighters

The best performance out of all..!! Foo Fighters were so awesome..!!
They kept playing in heavy rains mannn. Shiznit..!

No doubt, Dave Grohl is one of the best frontmen in history. I kid you not!!

There goes my hero.. The best of the best!

You know what I like?
I like it when rock & roll band come up on stage and play their instruments and they don't use fucking computers when they play.

I'm looking to the sky to save me.

Arctic Monkeys is a bad ass fucking rock & roll band.
You hear that, don't cha??

Damn, effin awesome speech by Grohl..!! Perry Farrel, mann!! If you don't know who's Perry Farrel, you're way too young. HAHA. JK! Easy peasy, google him.
Anyway this is the best song ever written in The Colour and The Shape. Period.

This song is by far, the best song written in Wasting Light.
Oh wait, what about Bridge Burning, Rope, These Days? NVM.
Let me sum it up. Wasting Light is the 2nd best album after The Colour and The Shape.

Arctic Monkeys

I miss their old songs. Alex never fails to amaze me. For a recent heartbroken man, this was pretty rad (Not the best performance though)..! No worries Alex..!!

Fluorescent Adolescent still gets me jumpy.

Uber-cool background!

Splendid riffs!!

Matt nailed it.

Cage The Elephant

Enjoy peeps. ;)
For other videos, just search it on youtube. You'll find it.

Set Fire To The Rain

Adele is awesome!

A good friend of mine gave me this song, thanks to you pal! ;)

Of yapping and yapping again

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I haven't write in here for quite a long time. I've lost my mojo to write in here.

But here I come again, hence the title above.

I'm gonna write whatever comes to my mind.

  • I long for a long break. Haven't got any so far. Final exam-> Internship -> 3p course . And I just finished this 3p course and alhamdulillah, passed the exam and got the certificate from Autodesk. What's next?? Oh well currently, I'm staying in campus to finish my fyp 2. Talk about persistence? This is it. But honestly, I don't mind to do what I ought to do. After all, it's part of my responsibility. ;)
  • Completed 3 months of internship. An infinite thanks to everyone in the company for the advices, guidance, humour, inspiration and just everything that make the list of awesome. Muchas gracias. There's a saying ..........."There's a first time for everything"...........
Oh yea, I did a lot of that while working. Not to mention about the day I conquered my fear of height. *mind-blowing*
  • It hits me to say that the worldly matters often offer a large amount of temptation. I've lost count of times I'm defeated by such large amount of temptation. Sometimes we do forget that the world is temporary. We're so determined to satisfy ourselves hankering for the worldly affairs that we forget the existence of the other world. The world that truly awaits us, the one that is eternal. O Allah, grant me a strong-willed mind that keeps reminding. I think I kinda need that. Period
  • I'm that easy to get bored. After 2 months and counting, I'm bored with FB. It's a good medium for you to keep tabs on your friends but nah, it's not necessary though. I don't mind to update about my life in twitter and this piece of blog, but not in FB. I feel bare. I know you could easily manage your settings to be private, but then If I were to privatize everything in my account, it'd defeat the purpose of me creating a FB account. Blerghhhh...I'm so weird!! Oh wait, what's my purpose again? Shoot.
  • I think I might have suffered from a temporary brain amnesia if there's such thing anyway. The capacity of my memories is jacking up! The old memories tend to be diminished. What a bummer.
Okayyyyyyyy. I'm done yapping. Toodles <3

An Excerpt

Friday, August 5, 2011

There are different wells within your heart.
Some fill with each good rain,
Others are far too deep for that.

In one well

You have just a few precious cups of water,
That "love" is literally something of yourself,
It can grow as slow as a diamond
If it is lost.

Your love

Should never be offered to the mouth of a
Only to someone
Who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife
Then weave them into a blanket
To protect you.

There are different wells within us.

Some fill with each good rain,
Others are far, far too deep
For that.

~ Hafez

Here is an excerpt by Hafez, one of the greatest Persian poets. Ohh I'm in love with his poem. His words are so real.

RIP Amy Winehouse

Sunday, July 24, 2011

Today, Amy Winehouse tragically passed away. At first, I saw the timeline in twitter and I thought to myself, it was another prank considering she doesn't score a lot of points in the like department.

So I didn't believe it, I was like, oh crap. Another joke about someone's death. But then again, when something like "RIP Amy Winehouse" flooding your timeline from the likes of NME, AltPress and others. I googled the news and yes, she's dead.

We lost another talent. Despite her bad reputation and massive amount of mess she made, I appreciate her talent. She's one of my fav female singers.

She has this strong jazzy voice with an authentic British voice. I love listening to her songs, I kid you not, I sing to her songs as well. Her lyrics gave me chills. Her voice soothes me somehow.

Damn it, so young. So young indeed. But death is certain, everyone will eventually dies, the only differences are how and when.

And yeah drugs are not hip. It reminds me of Kurt Cobain's death at the age of 27. I was still young at that time, but I knew him. I grew up with Nirvana's songs.

RIP Amy Winehouse. You are loved.

Here are some of my fav songs from Winehouse. Enjoy

Arctic Monkeys did a cover for this song, as much as I love Alex Turner, I still think Amy's version is the best. Unrivaled vocal. The lyrics hold perfect meaning. I've never delete this song in my playlist ever since I heard this one.

I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would,
I told you I was trouble,
You know that I'm no good,

Thinking on you in the final throes,
This is when my buzzer goes,

I love the part when she sings "His message was brutal but the delivery was kind". I'd repeat this part every time I hear this song.

"You should be stronger than me"..

A symphony

Friday, July 8, 2011

To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury;
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable;
and wealthy, not rich;
to study hard,
think quietly,
talk gently,
act frankly;
to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart;
to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never;
in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden
and unconscious grow up through the common.
This is to be my symphony.

~William Ellery Channing

I don’t have time to be in love
Kissing you on the cheek, 200 times a week
I don’t have time to be in love
Watching a foreign film, feet on the windowsill
But that’s not true when I’m with you

I don’t have time to be in love
Way too much candlelight, keeping me warm at night
I don’t have time to be in love
Cooking a meal for two, climbing all over you
But that’s not true when I’m with you

Cause I used to be there for you when you were so blue
I’d walk with you in the rain
Nothing was better when we did it together
I don’t have time for love

I don’t have time to be in love
Holding you to my chest, feeling your every breath
I don’t have time to be in love
Laughing so hard we cry, sometimes I don’t know why
I don’t have time to be in love
Maybe this revelry just wasn’t meant for me
But that’s not true when I’m with you
When I’m with you

P/s: Priscilla Ahn, she never fails to amaze me with her angelic voice. It gives me goosebumps hearing her voice. Awesome..!! The video is perfect with her cute charm. ;)

Tension of Opposites

Saturday, July 2, 2011

This is taken from Tuesdays With Morrie written by one of my fav authors, Mitch Albom.

"Have I told you about the tension of opposites?" he says.

The tension of opposites?

"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted.

"A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. And most of us live somewhere in the middle."

I'm in the middle of tension of opposites.

I have no idea what should I do, yet.

I don't like to weigh my options.

Transformers: Dark of The Moon

Few days ago, last day of June, I went to watch Transformers: Dark of The Moon with new set of friends.

It was awesome but..There's a but in my statement!

I couldn't say I had a pretty full course of satisfaction right after I watched it. It's like there's something missing. I've waited quite long for this film to hit cinema and yes I was agitated to watch it. But umpph, there's something missing.

I honestly think the CGI is marvelous. All the robots looked uber-cool in defined details, the action looked compelling and convincing. All of us audience could follow the pace of the actions unlike in the 2nd installments.

But the film sans the cheap romance and jokes would have been better. The jokes were cheesy and lame.

The new cast,Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was another eye-candy after Megan Fox. Both have the similar attributes, they can't act for sure! But in a heartbeat, I'd choose Fox.

The villains on the other hand lacked of something. There were few plot holes in rising the villains' plot of making their own ploy. Sentinel Prime's betrayal didn't look convincing at all.

Sentinel Prime, the main villain looked frail to me. Shockwave, the serpent-like robot is very amazing, it looked cool but yeah, he didn't do much of anything. Megatron barely existed in the movie.

The flow of the story is not even coherent. It's like there's not enough relation/explanation from one to another scene. Not even sync to the previous installment. What happened to the Cube's knowledge in Sam's brain? Too many questions in my mind. Forget it.

All in all, the movie was still awesome with stunning effects. It's far better than the 2nd installments.

The most eye-popping moment, is by watching at the sleek autobots (Mirage, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Sideswipe) in their car modes. Did you see Mirage in car mode? It's red Ferrari 458 Italia. Sizzling hot!

Well I always have a thing for sports car. As a matter of fact, when I was a kid, I wanted to be a racer. Pfft..How pathetic. haha.

Okay. For those who still haven't watch Transformers, watch it and entertain yourself but don't expect too much. Haha. :D

P/s: Laserbeak is cool..!

Boast of Quietness

Monday, June 27, 2011

"Writings of light assault the darkness, more prodigious than meteors.
The tall unknowable city takes over the countryside.
Sure of my life and death, I observe the ambitious and would like to
understand them.
Their day is greedy as a lariat in the air.
Their night is a rest from the rage within steel, quick to attack.
They speak of humanity.
My humanity is in feeling we are all voices of that same poverty.
They speak of homeland.
My homeland is the rhythm of a guitar, a few portraits, an old sword,
the willow grove's visible prayer as evening falls.
Time is living me.
More silent than my shadow, I pass through the loftily covetous multitude.
They are indispensable, singular, worthy of tomorrow.
My name is someone and anyone.
I walk slowly, like one who comes from so far away he doesn't expect to arrive"

Jorge Luis Borges

Skinny Love

Sunday, June 26, 2011

Here's the official music video of Skinny Love by Birdy.

What a powerful voice. I love her. She's just 15 years old. What an amazing talent.

Her name is Jasmine Van den Bogaerde but she's using Birdy as her stage name.

Her mom is a concert pianist, no wonder she's great at playing piano.

I love the song. I'm gonna find the piano notes for this one soon. ;)

Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
My my my - my my my - my my my my - my my ...
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

I tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My my my - my my my - my my my my - my my ...
Right in the moment this order's tall

I told you to be patient I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced I told you to be kind
In the morning I'll be with you
But it will be a different kind
I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love what happened here
Suckle on the hope in lite brassiere
My my my - my my my - my my my - my my ...
Sullen load is full so slow on the split

I told you to be patient I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced I told you to be kind
Now all your love is wasted then who the hell was I?
Cause now I'm breaking at the britches
And at the end of all your lines

Who will love you? who will fight?
And who will fall, far behind?

Come on skinny love ........
My my my - my my my - my my my - my my ...

Something to ponder

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Nearly met with an accident just now. Oh God. I was just inches away from crashing the reckless driver. Yup, he's one of the many. Out of the blue, he appeared in the opposite direction. Luckily I was driving slow at that time, if not, I would have hit him already. He was speeding in the wrong lane. It's the opposite. Who in the right state of mind would do such? hesssh..

My heart thumping like mad. I was shocked and I still am. I've never been in an accident before and this, it could be my first. But alhamdulillah, God has saved me, saved us. My friend was with me. Thank to her as well, she's the one who shouted, it snapped me out of it. I managed to maneuver my car. Fortunately, there was no car beside and behind me. If there's one, just one is enough to cause a big impact. I'm speechless.

Random thoughts came swarming. What would happen if I were to hit the reckless driver? First, all three of us would have been injured. Then what am I going to say to my parents, her parents and the reckless driver's parents or anyone important? The worst part is that I still haven't finish my whole set of daily prayers for that day.

I was going to pray before going out for a dinner, but I felt kinda lazy. I thought to myself to pray after dinner. Mannnn, it was such a bad idea after all. Again, my big responsibility was put on hold to meet other trivial activities in my life. For a dinner with friends, I delayed my prayer. ;(

I've been negligent but Allah still love me. O Allah. I felt ashamed. He has saved us. I'm beyond grateful for that. I still can't digest the fact that I almost had an accident. This is a reminder for me to keep being careful on the road. Be alert. The most important thing is always set my priorities straight. There's always a heavy price to pay if you put something on hold, put something off.

I'm grateful for tonight.

"A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person."
(Mignon McLaughlin)

One of us is getting married real soon. Finally, all of us gathered in spite of our busy schedules. These days, it's so hard to gather all of us at one time. The bride-to-be herself is a very busy woman. When she came out with an exact date saying that's the only date she's free, all of us made ourselves available prior to spend time with her before her marriage. You know, the catching-up session.

First, we had an amazing dinner for a warm-up. The gossiping session is then prolonged to a sleepover to celebrate the last days of a single lady among us. ;)

We had so much fun catching-up with each other, the ticking clocks didn't seem to bother us, night till morning were filled with our joyful laughter. Re-visits happened, reality checked in. Reminiscing the good old days. Sweet! but my oh my, how fast time flies.

Just by hearing their story is enough to melt every bones in my body. How her fiance put an effort to calm everything, how her heart flutters in the very beginning of their relationship, how easy things have been going on and yada yada. I'm in awe. Pathetic much?! Haha.

8 months ago, I wrote this right after her engagement ceremony saying how amazed I am seeing them surviving the long distance relationship. Now in less than 3 weeks, they're going to tie the knot. Can you believe it?? Oh I'm freaking excited and happy for them. Soon after that, she's going to migrate to Japan since her fiance is going to work there.

She had to make a huge decision to quit her job here to follow her husband, but I believe it's for the best. They have gone through a long distance relationship (her fiance studied in Japan) before, only God knows how hard it was for them. They deserved to be together after all this while.

Only certain people with a great amount of patience could maintain a long distance relationship. Hats off to them. I know I'm not one of them.

Last night, our conversation is mainly about marriage. We shared stories about successful and unsuccessful marriage. We're old anyway :D. No kidding, at this age, there's a pinch of jealousy seeing your friends, one by one is getting married to their soulmate. You're beyond happy to share the excitement but one question never fails to pop up.
When will it be for you?

It's too early to tell. In reality, I'm not even ready. A lot of matters to be settled first. I still need to prepare myself, muster all the skills before stepping into the big picture. It's intimidating hearing about the unsuccessful marriage. I hope none of us would ever experience such unfortunate event. InsyaAllah.

This sort of thing is out of my control. I leave it all to Allah. ;)

Why no one will help me
I am too dumb I am too smart
They'll not understand me
I am lonely
They'll hate me
And there is not enough time
It's too hard to help me
And god wants me to work
No resting no lazy

These excuses how they served me so well
They've kept me safe
They've kept me stuck
They've kept me locked in my own cell

I'm too far from home
It takes far too much energy
And I cannot afford to
No one will ever see me

These excuses how they served me so well
They've kept me safe
They've kept me stuck
They've kept me locked in my own cell

These excuses how they're so familiar
They've kept me blocked
They've kept me small
They've kept me safe in my own shell

Bringing this into the light
Shakes their foundation
And it clears my side
Now my imagination
Is the only thing that limits
The bar that is raised to the heights

No one can have it all see
I have to they want me to
And I can't let them down
I'll never be happy

These excuses how they served me so well
They've kept me safe
They've kept me stuck
They've kept me locked in my own cell

These excuses how they're so familiar
They've kept me blocked
They've kept me small
They've kept me locked in my own cell

P/s: I love Alanis Morissette. And yes, lately this old song keeps looping in my car. I just love the meaning and the acoustic version. Alanis' voice still haunts me. Haha. ;)
